Microcomputer Systems, Inc.
Custom Design & Manufacturing
We perform the engineering design for products of others who have no engineering staff or choose not to do their design in-house. Our equipment for automating design of hardware, firmware and software include emulators and compilers for the Intel family of processors and derivatives of the popular 8051 microcontroller family. We also manufacture these products for our clients in many instances.
Our products are sold to OEM system houses similar to ourselves and to user agencies that have the expertise necessary for utilizing the products. Users include companies such as AT&T, Conoco, Exxon, General Motors, Hamilton Standard, Harris Corporation, Jet Propulsion Labs, Kodak, NBP, Xerox, etc. Our isolated analog input cards, for example, were used in the Mexican Metro system in Mexico City and Monterrey.
Our developments have included the renovation of the scoreboard and pylon system in one of the world's largest indoor facilities, the New Orleans Superdome, the BAT (a chordic keyboard) for Infogrip, Inc., vocal signage used by the blind for Talking Signs, Inc., Lock and Dam instrumentation for navigation control on the Red River in Louisiana, analog and digital I/O boards for the first Mars Rovers of NASA, and specialized avionics products for commercial aviation.
Recent developments include cards used in avionics for single- and multiple-engine aircraft, robots developed by JPL of NASA, GPS units for navigation, wireless network modules with integrated analog and digital data sampling, designs for CNC machine control, as well as embedded microcontroller designs for electric car chargers, for airborne environmental pesticide spraying, for diesel engine control, and antenna guidance controllers in modern missile systems.
